<p>Bipolar disorder is a complex psychiatric disease for which few causative genes have been discovered. Targeted sequencing of bipolar cases and unaffected controls was performed to elucidate the contribution of rare variants to bipolar disorder. This study included the standard exome targets as well as genes involved in synaptic function and genes previously implicated in bipolar disorder.</p>
