<p>The Atrial Fibrillation Biobank Ludwig Maximilian University (AFLMU) Study contributes to the spectrum of disease by adding carefully characterized patients with atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation, one of the most common human arrhythmias confers major morbidity, mortality and health care cost, and has been demonstrated to be caused and influenced by genetic and -omics factors. Particularly, AFLMU enrolled patients with an early onset of atrial fibrillation to increase the genetic burden on disease pathophysiology. All patients were recruited applying standardized protocols to maintain homogeneity in data and DNA quality.</p>
