<p>Mechanistic genetic and inflammatory endpoints were studied to gain insight into the molecular mechanisms of Sjögren's syndrome. Transcriptomic studies allowed the exploration of molecular alterations that might cause or influence the studied salivary gland pathology and potentially elucidate druggable pathways for intervention.</p>
